eHSM-I
Theme
Heterostructured materials (HSMs) are an emerging class of advanced materials that exploit spatially varying microstructures and properties to achieve exceptional combinations of strength, ductility, functionality, and reliability beyond those attainable in conventional homogeneous materials.
Building on the success of the International Conference on Heterostructured Materials (iHSM) series, eHSM-I serves as a European platform for researchers and engineers to present the latest advances in the design, processing, characterization, modeling, and application of heterostructured materials. As the first-ever European Conference on Heterostructured Materials, eHSM-I aims to strengthen collaborations between Europe and the global HSM community.
For more information about the global iHSM conference series, please visit the International Association on Heterostructured Materials website.
Topics of interest at eHSM-I include:
- Design principles and structure-property relationships in HSMs
- Processing and manufacturing of heterostructured materials
- Deformation mechanisms and microstructural evolution
- Advanced characterization and in situ techniques
- Computational modeling, AI-driven design, and data-informed materials research
- Energy, aerospace, transportation, and other engineering applications
- Emerging concepts in hierarchical and multifunctional material systems
